Bundle up to save energy
Did you know? By turning off a ceramic office heater for one workday you can save enough energy to heat 600 cups of tea. Wearing seasonally-appropriate clothing is one effective way to conserve energy.
To replace a ceramic heater in your workspace with an energy-efficient radiant model, submit a work request to Facilities Management. For more energy saving tips visit sustain.ok.ubc.ca.
Updating the UBC Okanagan Master Plan
On Jan. 28, the campus community is invited to a Public Open House on the draft UBC Okanagan Master Plan. Provide your feedback at the Open House or online from Jan. 26 to Feb. 6 at planning.ubc.ca/okanagan.
UBC’s current 2009 Okanagan Master Plan was designed to meet projected development needs over a 20-year time frame. However, as student enrolment and campus floor space have more than doubled since the 2009 Master Plan’s adoption, UBC recognizes the need for an updated Plan. The draft UBC Okanagan Master Plan will help guide future growth by identifying new opportunities to accommodate future needs for academic facilities, residential development and open spaces.
Please drop by our Public Open House on January 28 to find out more about the draft UBC Okanagan Master Plan and share your feedback.
Date: January 28, 2015
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Place: Fipke Centre, Main Level Foyer, 3247 University Way
Can’t attend in person? You can provide input online from January 26 to February 6 at planning.ubc.ca/okanagan.
